The aim of the Connexions service is to enhance careers guidance and ensure young people receive the help and support they need to make an effective transition to adult life and into FE, HE, employment and training. In Nottinghamshire the Connexions service has been a great success, both in terms of NEET statistics (well below the national average) and client satisfaction. We have a highly
effective system of tracking young people through their education, so we can determine who might need more support to progress into employment, education and training.
In 2011-2012, you will continue to receive a Connexions service as detailed in your partnership agreement contract. Your Connexions Personal Adviser will be getting in touch to arrange this over the summer term. However, you can also order products and services over and above this contract and the next few pages will detail our additional advice and guidance offer.
Higher EducationYou will also notice that we offer a programme of activities for young people about higher education. The need to ensure young people fully understand their post-16 and post-18 progression options has never been greater. We have a team of Connexions Advisers, who have specialist and extensive knowledge. As with all our products, please get in touch if you want us to create you a bespoke guidance and or HE package.
